Re: Hello, Nick Here.
Well the big day has come and gone.
Got out nice and early to get little bits finished off. Fitting windows, sorting out small oil leak, tracking and last of the welding required for the MOT
Then it was time for the MOT. Will upload the video of her maiden voyage at some point
What an experience it was to drive her for the first time! 8O
Great fun though. Never driven a split before in my life (or even been a passenger in one  )
3 miles down the road to the MOT center. No problems other than a slightly slippy clutch and a grumbly release bearing. Plenty of time to do those in the future.
So at the MOT station
In she goes......
And so for the result........................
PASS!!!!
MASSIVE THANKYOU TO ALL THAT HAVE SUPPORTED ME THROUGHOUT THIS ANSWERING QUESTIONS, GIVING ENCOURAGEMENT AND ADVICE. ALL YOU GUYS ARE GREAT AND I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING ALL OF YOU AT FUTURE SHOWS!!!!
Drive back, quick wash off with a damp sponge and put her to bed. DVLA here I come!!
Very happy Nick signing off.

Re: Hello, Nick Here. My rides.
Evening all,
Had another productive day. Interior stuff today.
Have been fitting the ply panels to the van and then Kate has been trimming them with our new fabrics I bought during the week. Have also started doing the rock n roll bed but need to get some new foam as the old stuff's nasty.
DVLA tomorrow afternoon.

Re: Hello, Nick Here. My rides.
Thanks Gailus
Haven't gone to the DVLA as my insurance cover note hasn't turned up yet. Was posted thursday. Bloody postal service.

Re: Hello, Nick Here. My rides.
Give them some grief on the phone. They should be able to email it to you.

Re: Hello, Nick Here. My rides.
Unforunatey I've missed my time slot to get to the DVLA in Brighton. I'm off to view a house at 5:30p.m and I've got to walk the dog first.
I will be giving them lots of grief if it still hasn't turned up tomorrow.

Re: Hello, Nick Here. My rides.
Got home today, 3 envelopes from the insurance company waiting for me. Opened up the first envelope, "Enclosed is your insurance certificate"
Great I think, chucked all the envolopes in my file with all the other documents, got in the car and drove to the DVLA in Brighton.
Get there, got served straight away, "V55 please sir, MOT certificate please sir, Title documents please sir" all going well so far.....
"Insurance certificate please sir"
Open envelope, look inside, NO CERTIFICATE!!!!
Look in other 2 envelopes, NO CERTIFICATE!!!!
DVLA man looks through envelopes, NO CERTIFICATE.
Phone up insurance company, "No sir, your insurance cover note will come in a seperate envelope"
Bloody post service again!! Due to the strike last week. Lots of complaints to the insurance company apparrantly.
DVLA can't accept a copy or fax of the insurance. It has to be the real thing.
Afternoon and petrol wasted!
Probably back there again tomorrow
