Soundcatcher i've just had a read of the email you sent regarding discount you can already get discount at VW heritage you just tell them you belong to the club show your membership card and you get discount
Re: Soundcatcher Its good we can get discount from them, but that only works if you make the trip over to Burgess Hill to get the bits!!
What Soundcatcher was getting at with the list of current members idea being sent out to the companies is that anyone from the club can then call and get the discount rather than trek across sussex or in Just Kampers case, down to Hampshire.
This should definately be on the agenda for the next commitee meeting!!

Re: Soundcatcher I believe this has been brought up half heartedly in the past before and never been resolved for what ever reason, but hopefully this time we can get something sorted, apart from anything it will help to make the membership to the club EVEN MORE valuable to each member.

The upshot of it is as a club we are unable to provide companies with lists of people who are members so they can check it off if you buying over the phone etc. This is part of the Data Protection Act.
The best we can suggest is to give it a try when on the phone or if possible try the retailers store.
The committee is going to be approaching more companies to try to expand the range of discounts for members. I'm not sure if they will publish a list of these or not.
So its not fallen completely over, but thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Re: Soundcatcher Hmmmmm I wonder how other clubs manage it then???? I might just have to ask around! Feels terribly like the committee doesn't know how to deal with this issue??? Sorry if I'm treading on peoples toes but I'm one of those....don't like to sit around and wait for something to happen people! I like to drive things along until I get the result I'm after or I find that what I'm trying to achieve is absolutely not possible!
Oh and wouldn't it be a waste of the committee's time if they arranged discounts with companies then didn't tell anyone?
Yes I'd love to get more involved in the club but I don't have the time to spare. I've never made it to a meeting (apart from the steam fair last year), as I work 8am-7pm in London Mon-Fri.Speaking of which I've got to get up in less than 5 hours...
Oh well time to visit the land of nod for a few hours before I get up for work!
