Hello
Just wanted to know everyone's thoughts on Table tipping?

If tables/glasses/planchetts moved by themselves or noises/knocks came from empty rooms I'd be more than open to it being paranormal activity, however anything that involves human contact/presence leaves me kind of sceptical.

I agree, when i told my dad about how much the glass moved at an investigation once he said "but why do you have to touch the glass? if it really is being moved by a spirit then surely it doesen't need people does it?"
I think the old man makes a good point...
So we tried it at Gresley old hall. The glass moved alot when people were touching it but it never moved when they weren't touching it. Coinsidence?

Every time I've tried table tipping nothing has happened!! I personally don't see the point of it as nothing can be scientificly proved - and even if a table moves it could be to do with someone moving it (maybe not on purpose, but even I find it hard to keep still when asked to!!!)

The power that is generated by contact with the glass, is what helps spirit to move it.
We once had some phenominal movement of a very heavy table, with seven of us round it.
With all hands on top of the table , it was lifted up high and moved around the room, even over people sitting in easy chairs elsewhere in the room.
For any of our group to be responsible for the movement, it would have needed all of us to have our hands underneath, it was that heavy.

I can understand this when nothing happens, but when something does happen it can be quite amazing. I agree that nothing can be scientificaly proven from it but thats one reason why is started this thread. I want to do more research to help us understand more about what really causes the table/glass/automatic writing board etc to move when fingers are placed on top of it.

Hi Richard
You'll have to keep us posted with your findings! Groups I've been on have tried to experiment but still we get nothing. When you have had results was a medium involved?? Or have you had movement with a group of non-psychic/mediums? That would be interesting to see if the movement occurs with a medium.

As far as table tipping goes, i think that on most occasions, it's all in the mind. We all emit energies from our bodies, as those who have listened to Richard Felix will know what i am on about. when you have a combined energy of a group of people stood or sat around a table all wanting something to happen, that I think they are able to create sufficient energies to move the table without there being any spiritual intervention. Only a few of them can be put down to possible paranormal phenomina. I worked with Diane recenlty & she told me she wont do glass divination or table tipping as nothing ever happens, the table did move though that night, but not until Diane went into trans & almost threw the table accross the room.

But if all of the movement is from energy in the mind, referred to in parapsychology as Telekenises, then why do we need to put our fingers on the glass or table for it to work?

You say that if it is energy from the mind, why touch the glass? Well...
Energy needs to be transfered. Far easten philosophies like thai chi build on energy transference, and when energy is built up in the body, it needs to be transfered out through something!
