Especially when such limitations DONT exist on the other side.
How do you know that they do not have visual dreams Dru ?
Maybe because it has been thoroughly researched...
quote: Though I have to admit that my niece, who is totally blind from birth, says that she can never remember her dreams - it has nothing to do with the 'other side' or limitations being imposed.
Of course it has, that is if the age old rhetoric we are fed by believers is true in where they insistently feed us with the amazing FACTS that when we are in spirit, we are not ill, we dont have physical deformaties or handicaps, that we are 'whole' again. Surely this would cover blindness as well, so if we travel to the the spirit world in our dreams then wouldnt we see it too, even if we were blind in the physical world?
quote: Your closing comment would suggest that you are not as much of a sceptic as you would have us believe.
Oh i am, trust me
quote: Explain if you would, why you think there may be another side after all, and how you know there are no limitations there ?
I dont believe there is 'another side' I simply say that only in comparative terms as that is what you believe.
As for limitations or lack theroff, i am simply relying on the constant speil pumped out by psyhics and mediums in regard to whatever ailments we have in this life being non-existent in the next.
As an addition you may want to read the research and study section of the forum, in particular the "Why We Dream" thread.
Dru.

Re: Dreams
Hi, I totally agree with Dianne. dreams do bring us closer to the ones we love who have passed over to spirit. I have had countless dreams involving the other side and how wonderfull and peacefull it is. I have been shown things that have happened in my life and also the wonderful things that can happen if I choose to open the doors to them....

Re: Dreams
The philosopher Thomas Nagel wrote a piece in 1974 entitled 'What is it like to be a bat' in which he discusses the difference in perception between entities and considers if different minds can ever truly understand what it feels like to be each other; essentially, that consciousness only makes sense in the context of that organism and could never be transferred such that the experience remains intact for the recipient.
The purpose behind the paper was to have a dig at a particular branch of cognitive science, but it does raise an interesting point with regards to dreams - if you dream of being a bird, are you experiencing what it is like to be a bird, or just what it is like to be a human imagining what it is like to be a bird? if it's the former then it poses questions about the universe that may take some answering

Re: Dreams
Your correct Avaren, infact if I have got my facts right it was Gallileo who was imprisoned for suggesting that the universe doesen't revolve around the earth.

Re: Dreams
One theory for deja vu (sp) is that due to the fact that both halves of our brain work at different speeds one is processing the image before the other, making you think you have seen it before... because you have... just a second before, lol
