I know several people who give that impression. Sadly, they're not.

Re: Orbs
Ghod, seeing is believing, unfortunately you just haven't seen anything which you can't explain with logic yet.

And why do you think the $1,000,000 prize put up by the James Randi foundation has never been claimed by anyone who can demonstrate 'paranormal activity'.
Could it be, per chance, that this 'paranormal activity' is explainable ?
Or do you seriously think that walking around with silly EMF meters actually means something ?
Gawd, we'll be having Derek Acorah b****** on here next !

Re: Orbs
Does this person actually know what an EMF meter is ? Perhaps i better explain:
EMF meters detect the presence of electromagnetic fields, the earth gives these of naturally. High levels of EMF can be harmful to the human body! EMF meters where originally designed to be used by engineers working within power industry.
I just happens that fluctuations or higher readings have been found in areas where paranormal activity has been found.
Dismissing then as “Silly” is like saying electromagnetic fields do not exist!
I was once very sceptic but I wanted to prove to myself whether there was something in this paranormal thing or not! Having bought a meter I decided to survey a local site which is supposed to be haunted!. Most of the site gave of a reading of 0.5 gauss I checked this site many times and got similar readings. But one particular area quite a long way from the main site gave of a higher reading of 3 gauss. I recorded all my results. I then decided to check again in the evenings I got some higher readings 2 gauss in certain areas of the site but these readings where not always there! Again I recorded all my findings.
Then having contacted a local historian/clairvoyant with knowledge of the site we met in a local pub before going to the site. I never discussed any of my findings with him and we walked all round the site.
What I found most interesting is the areas where I got high readings were the same places he claimed to be having paranormal experiences and other people have reported seeing things!
Now whether you believe in the paranormal or not there is something happening there I have proved to for myself.
I used to be a very sceptical person not wanting to believe in any of this paranormal stuff. Trying to explain everything with modern science, having studied physics at university for five years. But the things I have recorded and photographed proves to me that not all things are explainable.
I suggest if you are going to continually criticise and ridicule the paranormal then you are a very foolish person. Don’t forget in 1888 Heinrich Hertz discovered radio waves and before that people would laugh at the idea of sending invisible messages through the air.

Because to a believer no proof is necessary, and to a sceptic no proof is possible.
It never will be claimed as abseloute 100% unquestionable proof will never be found.

ROTFL !
Yes, of course I do. My background gives me much experience in knowing what it is.
But just because said meter detects EMF does not in any way shape or form mean you've found a ghost - it just means you've found a higher concentration of EMF energy, which can be explainable by many other things.
It basically comes down to if you want to believe in something, you'll find 'evidence' to support your belief - though whether it has any definitive credence, is highly debateable.

Oh my god. This is hilarious. Are you actually trying to suggest that just because someone believes in something yet has no tangible proof, we're supposed to just accept it ? That's a really scientific way of doing things....
The Randi foundation prize is claimable - you just need to meet the, perfectly reasonable, criteria for it. The fact that no-one to date has, is telling.
You might like to search the likes of YouTube etc for videos of James Randi debunking many 'psychics' and 'mediums' - it's hilarious to watch. The one in which he debunks Uri Geller is brilliant.
