Problem with cctv camera

I know this is a bit cheeky asking you, but as you use technical equipment I thought one of you may have the answer.Last night I noticed a problem with one of the cctv cameras attached to my house, it is showing what looks like a large orb hovering above my drive. Now if this was an orb in comparison with the drive, trees and bushes it would be about 10ft round. The camera is a new one just installed 2 weeks ago and up until last night was working perfect, if the camera was on the blink would this be what I would see.or because I know of the relation of insects to orbs could this just be a spider in front of the camera being magnified for some technical reason. If this is possible I will have to try and find someone with a ladder that can reach the camera,so I can dust it off, and that would save me the trouble of dismantling the camera and having to send it back. I would be grateful for your advise.

Hi secret spirit ,
As the CCTV camera have a info-red light , If it has, Spider's or Fly's in front of the lens will be bleached out by the info-red light, the Insect will look like a white blob or a orb affect, all it can be is a small object moving infront of the camera. The some thing when people take Photographs, thinking they have a Ghost, but it's only a small out- of- focus dust, water, or Insects , The spider , fly or dust will look bigger, but it's only a few inches away from the lens

Thankyou tech noir,

The booklet says it has a PIR (PASSIVE INFRA RED) is that what you meant, going on what you have said, it looks like I have a spider, now I feel such a fool for bothering you. My window cleaner comes tomorrow so I will get him up there with my fluffy duster. Gosh this is a relief thankyou..thankyou.

Irene.

Re: Problem with cctv camera

Thank you for your help, I got my window cleaner up there today with my little fluffy duster, boy did he look cute. He said there was a web close to the camera and a line that stretched out like a guy rope on a tent to the cover on top of the camera.

No ghosts, thats good I have enough of them in my work life, certainly don`t want them in my personal time.

So tonight should prove if we got that little 8 legged demon as soon as it gets dark, i will know.
