Weather
Have just been thinking how blooming cold it is and it has made me think if anyone knows if the extreme weather, or any for that matter has any effect on the paranormal. I have no idea,probably daft question.

Not a daft question at all, I think you make a very good point. I guess this one is open to debate and theory.
I personally believe that water, or to be more precise humidity, has allot to do with sightings of ghosts.
If the stone tape theory is correct then what we see must be some sort of projected light, its how our eyes work, and we only see something because of light reflecting off it. So to see an apparition it must be light reflecting off something, which in my opinion is water. So the more moisture there is in the air the more suitable conditions are for a ghost sighting.
This is of course just my theory.
We could also argue that ghosts must be a form of energy, it source could be the build up of positive and negative charged electrons in the air, similar to when a lightning storm is brewing.

I had never even thought of it like thathow interesting, your explanation does make a lot of sense.
It has made me more curios now. What is the stone tape theory,have never heard of it. How can I find out more about it.

The Stone tape theory is one of the many interesting things that you can hear Richard Felix talk about at our events.
I also like this theory as it is the one that makes the most sense, it fits the most key holes and offers a good explanation.
Basicaly, if you think about a ghost sighting you may think you are witnessing the spirit of that person, but if thats the case then why do ghosts appear clothed? do clothes have a soul? (no puns about shoes please!)
Also they appear to be able to walk through walls, and one of the most famous ghost stories where roman soldiers were walking on a road that wasn't even discovered for several decades after the sighting.
So based on this theory ghosts are not an intelligent being, but instead are literaly a moment of time being played back again. This is a very difficult theory to test but we are working on it!

Thank you, I think I remember Mark Webb talking about that at Gresley Old Hall, and Richard Felix at Bretby, didn't realise that is what it is called. Very interesting .
