Re: UFO's Newly released UFO files-

Newly released UFO files-
The files contain a wide range of UFO-related documents covering the years 1978–2002. So if you want to find out more about lights in the sky over Waterloo Bridge, near misses by pilots, crop circles - and what the UK government thought of it all - this is the place to start. The files are in PDF format.

The National Archives virtual press event-UFOs

For first time, The National Archives is making 8 Ministry of Defence (MoD) files relating to (Unidentified Flying Objects) UFOs available on Monday 12 May 2008.

The files will be available to download at no charge for the first month, online at www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ufos.

These are the first files to be released by the MoD as part of a 4-year transfer project relating to UFOs. The files are under embargo until the 00.01am 14 May 2008.

Re: UFO

I think we have to believe in UFO,s ,if we belive in life after death ,
We owe it to ourselfs to keep our minds open
for all aspects of other life out there,
after all surely we dont imagine we are the only form of life beings.
Because if we are then it would be a poor example to set.
(Well thats what I think any way, without getting in too deep ) emoticon

Hi bezzajs nicely put, am 100% behind you on this. i was thinking that i was the only one believing in UFO's on this forum. Because of SPIRichard he's a philistine.. he hits and kicks me, every time he sees me. if i mention UFOs.

           The truth is out there...

Can I just ask everyone to remember that there is a difference between an alien and a UFO. I do believe in aliens but I don't believe that they are visiting us.

yes there is a difference between the
"alien" and the "UFO" ,one is a "being" and the other is a means of transport an "unidentified flying object"
I am not trying to be funny here, but if you believe in one , surely you could try and believe the other ?

Re: UFO

Well lets look at it from their point of view. Aliens may be wandering if there is life out there... well there is and it's us but we aren't visitng them so just because they might exist doesen't mean they have the capabilities to tavel through space.

Hi I have seen big thing and little thing over the years on my own. And no one to say "did you see that" But me and my family was on the back yard at Swadlincote road woodville, in the daytime 2:30 sunday 7 years ago.We all seen a plane over head about 20.000 feet with a big red light following it for ten min's that was good.

Re: UFO

Its good that we all have opinions on UFO,s
 thats how it should be.
But lets not forget that before we had
aircraft it wouldn,t have been possible
to imagine flying through the clouds ,
so what proof is there that another form of
life cant have the capability of having
 their own transport!!
Thanks for letting me have my say and hope
 I have not offended anyone....

Re: UFO

I don't think Richard was saying that if there is life out there, and if it's intelligent and capable of building things that it won't have developed some form of transport (lot of ifs there), but just that there's no reason to believe that we're being visited by anyone.

The temptation is to subscribe to the idea of alien lifeforms that came from 1950s cinema, where they're not only more intelligent than us, but are visiting us all the time and apparently have nothing better to do.

I mean, I believe in us - I have to, I see enough of us every day - but I know we're not capable of flying to other stars. There's no proof that these potential aliens CAN'T have spaceships, but there's also no proof that they HAVE so what's the point in believing either way?

Personally I'd be amazed if there weren't at least bacteria like lifeforms somewhere else in the universe, but the whole thing is purely speculation at the moment, and there's no extra benefit in believing complex stories with nothing approximating proof* over just being open to ideas without wanting to commit to any one of them.

* there's really nothing out there we can get our hands on that suggests aliens or spaceships of non Earthly origin exist. We have lots of blurry photos that are unprovable (and often faked), lots of equally blurry film that generally turn out to be various types of earhtly aircraft, and lots of witness statements that amount to opinion rather than fact. That's why many people just aren't prepared to believe in other lifeforms or UFOs and rightly so. Remember that belief only exists in the absence of proof.
