radius arm bushings
I've got a bit of a klunk noise from underneith the bronco.
Only in 4wd high or low range at low speed when pulling.
I gotta think it's the radius arm bushings, one side is visibly bad. Could be motor mounts too I suppose.
I'm gonna change the bushings and see what that does.
Any of ya'll have any other thoughts, I would be happy to hear them. thanks, Ron

Re: radius arm bushings
Did you check the transfercase bushings also? the extra strain on the case when in 4wd might just be enough to show u a slow coming prolem there. I 'd put it in D then R and back and forth with a friend insid eand u listening to track down the noise, always worked for me just make sure their sober. :)

Re: radius arm bushings
I'll contract some help this weekend to rock it back & forth. It's usually dark when I get home in the evening. I drive a fleet vehicle to/at/from work. Wich bushings are you talking about? Thanks for the reply. Ron

Re: radius arm bushings
There should be bushings where the transfercase and the frame(or crossmember) are attached they might be worn. I actually had 3 missing when I bought my truck. Your just going to have to track down the noise with a buddy. Let us know when you find something.

Re: radius arm bushings
The transfer case on the bronco (94) hangs free on the transmission, only crossmember is under trans adapter. The mount is probably due for replacement though.
I'm taking a vac.day friday so I'll have hopefully a good long weekend to figure it out. I know I gotta change the radius arm bushings, one side is looking pretty gone. It seems to make the noise with just a little torque on the front end. Hopefully that will fix it.
I've had the bronco about six months. It was a fresh repo when I got it (as is). So far it's been educational. It will be a pretty fine ride when I get all the bugs out. I'll let ya'll know what I get figured out. Ron

Re: radius arm bushings
Replaced radius arm bushings with some nice blue ones, but it didn't make any difference. Oh well, they needed to be replaced anyway. I drove it around a little in the pasture in 4wd today, I think I'll look at the hubs tomorrow. I installed new milemarker manual hubs when I changed the trasfer case, about a month ago. Could it be loose wheel bearing making hub slip? I'm thinking re-torque
to be on the safe side. Ron
Also, I did use spindle nut adapter kit,3 bolt auto to manual.
