Simple request
Keith, I am thinking about printing the posts on here to put into a book that I started with all my 67-72 truck info in it. (If thats o.k. with you =D ) Is there an easier way of doing this than just printing off each page? I wanted to do this b/c I didn't know how long you were going to keep all these posts up.

Re: Simple request
This board isn't going anywhere. I have a limit of 10,000 posts per topic, so I think we're safe from anything dropping off the board for quite a while. However, I do plan on starting up a searchable archives section one of these days when I get really bored.
But as for saving everything, I don't know of any other way other than printing the pages for you to archive them. You're more than welcome to do so, that's what the board's for. I understand that it would be a hassle, but I don't know of anything that would be it easier.

Re: Simple request
Thanks a lot for permission, I know some people have problems with stuff like that. It's good to know the posts will be up for a while.

Re: Simple request
Just a Thought?
But what if you made a directory
say :
Foridfication on you hardrive.
And then saved the HTML page. etc.
gees then you could name the pages you wanted and even backuo on a cd.
I am just thinking Dang, you are gonna spend a fortune on paper and ink.
I manage some 50 websites and i couldnt imagine printing even one of them. the'll all backed up on cd's
Just my two cents.

Re: Simple request
I have no problem whatsoever with anyone saving the contents of the forums to their hard drive for their own personal use. Besides...how the heck would I even know?
However, just be careful about what you do with the info in regards to posting anything saved from these forums to other places online. Give credit where credit is due. It's only fair.

Re: Simple request
Hey thanks for the suggestion. I never thought about that, I probably will try that and I can just print stuff when I need it.Also, I have no intentions whatsoever of posting this content anywhere else.

Re: Simple request
I simply copy and paste to word documents and save under a file named MY TRUCK in MY DOCMENTS. I name the word document whatever it pertains to and save it in that manner. I do have a 3 ring binder with my trucks data sheet from FORD Customer Service and some pictures and the 67-72 description guide printed in color from Keith's website. Which by the way is an excellent selling point for the forum and website when I come into contact with folks.
But the word documents are very small and easily saved to either a floppy or CD for future references.

Re: Simple request
Jeremy, another note.
There is a very easy way to get all the
info without even having to copy and paste.
Since Keith has said the saving is allowed.
Please email or PM me and I will let you know the process we use.
Kieth if you would like to know as well email or IM me.
Its nothing illegal or unethical.
However the techique is different and
I dont want to post it here so its not
abused.

Re: Simple request
One thing we do on one of the 914 boards is that relly good technical threads get nominated for "classics" and go to a special section. They are usually locked when moved. IIRC
It creates a sort of FAQ / archive, without one person actually having to sit and write it. =D
