there is a metal plate in several of the photographs that seems to be a info plate but is corroded. anyone know what it is? and in another something is coming out of the truck above the trim. it looks rubberish. I put in somw engine shots and evidence of my latest work.

That metal plate on your A/C compressor pump is just it's individual ID tag. It has nothing to do with your motor, but it does have info about the pump. If it's the engine ID tag you're looking for, there a pic of one on THIS PAGE along with info you need to decipher it.

The 'rubberish' piece you mentioned is body seam filler coming out of the seam, due to rust behind it. It's bad news when the bed starts rusting there, it's very hard to get rid of without sandblasting.

But overall it looks great! Although mine's going to be black, I have a thing for Rangoon Red trucks. And it seems to be very nicely equipped.
