Door Seal

I have new door seals for my 67. Where is the best place to place the seam (the place where the two ends meet)? I'm thinking it should be in the middle of the door sill. Thanks.

Re: Door Seal

I would install it so the seam is centered over the bottm door sill, maybe leaving a 1/8" gap so water can escape.

Re: Door Seal

I started at the bottom of the door opening in about the center and worked my way around and back to the bottom. The door sill plate pretty much covers the the area they come together......hope this helps you

Thanks, guys. I'll meet them in the middle. I hadn't thought of leaving a space but that sounds like a good idea.

The door seals for my 67 came out pretty nice. I gotta say though, a third hand or a helper would have made the job a lot easier. That darn glue is a mess too! Anyhow, I'll post some photos later.

Ha ha, you can say that again. Even with my new door seals the mirrors make for a lot of noise. I just crank up the MP3 player.

Re: Door Seal

all the factory seams I remember are at the point where the sill starts to slant up. (the bend in the sill plate)

I just replaced all the seals, window felts, anti-rattlers, etc. in my F-600 crewcab, and it makes a world of difference.
