steering wheel removal.

I just got my parts truck finally. It appears to be a custom cab (badges in floor board gave it away) with the three spoke wheel and fancy horn button. Can some one tell me how this wheel (horn ring) comes off?

push it down and turn it. I forget which way, I'm alotta help, huh! They don't always come off easy. Try to resist putting much pressure on the spokes. They tend to crack at the horn button. Ron

Just push down and turn counter-clockwise...it'll pop right off.

Post some pics of your parts truck...or at least a listing of what you don't think you'll need. Or both. emoticon

If it's an aftermarket wheel, it'll fit, you'll just have to get the proper installation kit which will come with the adaptor you'll need.

Re: steering wheel removal.

OK, am I dumb or what? I want to pull the steering wheel off my 68 donor truck. It doesn't appear to be the original steering column as it has the hazard light switch on the column(one in the glove box too). It's a 2 spoke steering wheel(Dennis Carpenter has it listed as a 1971-77). Do I need a steering wheel puller or is there a magic trick to it that I haven't figured out yet???

Thanks,
Shane
