Dusty Moon Skin Sun Visors
They're hard to clean! Using compressed air, I blew out as much dust as I could. A lot came out, but not all of it. Maybe I'll try a mild amonia and water solution sprayed from a spray bottle, then blow it off with the air nozzle. Removing the visors first.

Re: Dusty Moon Skin Sun Visors
Mine are pretty filthy also...I've repainted my interior, and is pretty much all white as original. "doors/dash" But my visors are pretty dingy looking and clash with the pure white. Almost like they are cig tar stained, with a ground in mix of dust/dirt. Quite likely as the original owner once smoked for years, and I still do, although I think most is his..... I was thinking of pulling them off and cleaning. If they still look funky, I was considering actually painting them white with that rubberish paint...But haven't decided...I will probably try windex, 409, simple green, etc, to see if the gunk will come off. Maybe it will. Mine are normally kind of an off white color..MK

Re: Dusty Moon Skin Sun Visors
Update...I washed mine yesterday...WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!! I couldn't believe it...
I was cleaning out the truck cab, and started looking at those grimy things and decided to yank and wash them. I sprayed them first with some windex just to see what would happen. The cheese started to melt..So then I decided to get out my scrub brush and some laundry detergent, and gave them a good scrub. I'd scrub, and let them sit a while, quite a few times, over and over, to keep melting the cheese. Took about two hours worth. Most all crud came off. They look almost like new now, and now are a light tannish beige looking color, instead of puke-dust-cig-tar brown. Couldn't believe it...I wasn't really expecting it to come off as well as it did with the grain it has. P.S. I think the laundry detergent helps, as it has a mild bleaching action as it sits...I wash my white truck with it, and it helps keep it white...:)
So whip out the scrub brush and soap, and go to town. It probably will come off. BTW, my visors were in good shape, and the vinyl seemed strong and pliable enough to withstand scrub brushing with no problems. You should have seen the 36 years of soapy brown gook that came off of them and was on the driveway. Unbelievable..:/ MK
