Hot Voltage Regulator Normal?
I've had my '67 F-100 for two years now and finally got it started today for the first time after rebuilding the engine (300 I-6). Fired up and ran well for 20 minutes but after I shut it off I noticed that the voltage regulator was very hot to the touch- maybe 130-140 degrees. Never had any experience with this truck before so I don't know if this is normal. The truck came with a burned up ground wire from the alternator to voltage regulator, which I replaced. Also replaced the stock regulator with a solid state one , and a rebuilt alternator. Any ideas?

Re: Hot Voltage Regulator Normal?
It's not normal, I don't know what your problem is, but it's not normal.
(I know, this post is ancient, I couldn't just leave it hanging open like that. )
