Question on using F600 panel
I've been wondering this for several days and keep forgetting to ask about it: When attempting to install an F600 instrument panel, how would one hook up the alternator gauge? Is it hooked up like any other aftermarket gauge, or does it require the shunt-type harness used for the full-instrumentation package in the pickups?

Re: Question on using F600 panel
LOL...well, I guess I DO have a few spare wiring harnesses laying around. When it comes time to start hooking this thing up I guess I'll just have to make sure I have 'em handy! There's nothing like trial-and-error to give you an education. Guess I'd better invest in a fire extinguisher, too, huh?

Re: Question on using F600 panel
Did you decide if you are staying with the origonal gauges?

Re: Question on using F600 panel
No, not really. I'm still checking my options. I have a few months before I get to the point in my project where it will become an issue. I'd almost like to keep the original gauges for the stock look, but I think I'm more concerned with having accurate gauges than I am appearance.
Depending on how my schedule goes towards the end of the week, I might be taking a trip to the big-truck salvage lot about an hour away which has the F600 panels and get one or two more, but complete versions with vacuum gauges and tachometers. I'd rather have 'em and not need 'em than need 'em and not have 'em. If I DO go with the aftermarket gauges, I'll need to do some modifications to the rear gauge pod which holds the gauges, and I'd like to have a spare in case I mess it up, or it doesn't work and I then decide to use the stock gauges after all.

Re: Question on using F600 panel
If you run across an extra tach for that type of panel, let me know. I am probably going to stay with the stock equiptment.
