Say GoodBye to the 360

At least as a 360.

As sson as all the parts get here, shes coming out and getting built into a 30 over 390.

It should still look basically the same, save for matching paint, but I bet it performs better..... emoticon

You gonna paint the engine the same color as the valve covers?

I'm going to use POR15 "Corp Ford Blue" they say it is the darkest ford blue they have, but yes I hope it is the color of the valve covers which is Duplicolor DE1606 "Dark Ford Blue"

All the stuff is coming from summit except the valves from EBay,

How well does POR15 hold up on Engine's with the Heat and all...Is it a paint that will last along time and look like new?

Is there anyother piant out there that will work Good on a Engine?

Also so are you useing the GapLess Rings from SpeedPro?

The different shades of Ford blue can really give you the blues when it comes to matching. As I understand it, even different shades of the “same” color came from the factory too.

I’ve found that the dark Ford blue can be replicated with Ditzler 13358, spray bombs Nybco 342311, Plasti-Kote FB-224 or DupliColor DE-1606. MCA judges suggest using the Plasti-Kote 224 for a good match. That weird lighter shade of Ford blue that came out in late '68, ’69, ’70 seems to match DAR 13358 or Plastic-Kote 205.

I hope I got those right, it's confusing for sure.

The lighter blue on my engine is the 1601. I liked it to start with, but it gets old fast.

I did the Porsche motor with Por15 and it turned out well, better than a spray bomb would have. Haven't been done with it long enough to comment on the durability. I've always been happy with their stuff though. Honestly, the duplicolor stuff isn't bad at all, though. It is easier to get, cheaper and easier.

Going to use the standard molly rings from speed pro, in fact I wasn't aware they made gapless rings, I thought that was total seals game.

duckrider, aren't you glad now that you didn't sell the truck?
I also find all the differnt colors of Ford blue engine paint confusing. I got my engine back from a custom build a few years ago with that same greenish looking paint on it. I had to get the correct darker blue and repaint it because I thought it look like that color that Chevy used back in the 70s. Yuuuck!
