Re: MSD or Accell Ready To Run Dist.
I have never had either but I would be tempted to run the Davis Unified HEI just for simplicitys sake. I din't know if that big cap will clear all the manifolds or not.

Re: MSD or Accell Ready To Run Dist.
Now why would you want to put a GM dizzy on a Ford? BTW, HEI replacement parts fit the DUI.
(just giving you a hard time) :pp

Re: MSD or Accell Ready To Run Dist.
I would rank the HEI as one thing that GM did right. One wire hook up with an easy 50,000 volts available in stock form

Re: MSD or Accell Ready To Run Dist.
Got the MSD.
I do not like the cap, but I guess it will do.
I would prefer that it be a bit more inconspicuous. (IE: Black cap and standard terminals.) I think I am going to get a set of reproduction 390 GT wires, change the terminals, and then cover the dizzy with one of those black rubber shields as the late models have.

Re: MSD or Accell Ready To Run Dist.
The accell is also electronic (billitproof) but takes standard wires and has a tan cap. Still has adjustable curves and stops, so it should perform equally I hope.
Waiting for the last bits to come (ati dampner, assorted gridly stuff) and I'll start the teardown.

Re: MSD or Accell Ready To Run Dist.
I run the MSD(everthing on mine is MSD) and I wouldn't change it for anything seeing I've never had a Problem that MSD would not fix and that 1 problem I had was my fault but they still fixed it FREE....
You can get different caps for the MSD,but some of the Mail Order Stores dont have a Listing for it so you have to call MSD your self,,I have 2 different one's right now.I just switched to a different Cap about 2 months ago.
I had a Accell in my 289 HiPo and will never use one again,It broke off at about 7200 RPM's
Just my 2 cents

Re: MSD or Accell Ready To Run Dist.
We'll see.
MSD claimed not to have any standard caps for the RTR.
The Accell is almost a hundred cheaper and has pretty much the same specs, also carved from billet. Gotta be better than whats in it.
