Re: Found the Leak in the 390
Please cross your fingers and knock on wood - I am looking to fire it up tomorrow. If I do - you'll have audio/video tomorrow night.

Re: Found the Leak in the 390
Starts and runs smoothly enough, considering the valves are ou tof adjustment and the timing was just a best guess deal. Looking to have it running cleanly enough to do a cam break-in tomorrow and have it on the road Friday.

So, are ya riding?
Wondering also if you were able to seal the Hookers against the heads ports? If so I think I'm going to order a set from Keith Craft.

Re: Found the Leak in the 390
Still not rollin'...
It's always something, you know. : ) I got as far as cruising down the street with no bed, no hood, and a lot of tranny fluid shooting out...It was solid, I suppose.
I need to fix a tranny leak at the servo cover and then I should be squared away enough to actually drive it. We'll see.
If nothing else, it sounds pretty mean. : )

Re: Found the Leak in the 390
You can cut a 3/8" bolt and cut a slot in it with a hacksaw and screw it in with some
silicone. Should seal ok.

Re: Found the Leak in the 390
I prefer the copper gaskets for hedders. Mr gassket sells the ones i like using. If i didnt use those gaskets i would have to change heads. The po must have let the manifolds leak for to long and about 1/4 around the edge and 1/8-1/4 deep also. That much of the ports are gone which is the reason i went to hedders.
