Fluids????


These questions I think I know. However you alls collective wisdon can only help.
Fluids? Types weights etc. Going to the store today
Oil? Synthetic??
Rearend?
Radiator? Store bought flush or Hose?
Tranny? Type fluid etc. I havent looked. Does the trans have any type filter?

I use Mobil and Redline products almost exclusively.

Redline if its a manual tranny.

Mobil one synthetic products if all the seals are in good shape.

If its an Auto matic, yes there is a filter under the pan.

If its an automatic and it has not been overhauled recently, it takes type F fluid which is hard to find.

Don't use anything but Type F,

It usually isn't that it is hard to find any type F, but its hard to find good type F. It usually turns out that most parts stores only keep one brand of it, so it is kind of a beggers can't be chosers type of thing.

Like I'm here in Texas and I'm running Mobil 1 15w50 because of the Heat down here...

Thats what's run in my pick-up during the summer Mystic 15w50, and I can get ahold of some Conoco Type F fluid pretty cheap and easy. What would you guys recommend for PS fluid? That Type F fluid work good for it too?

I read somewhere that there was a Matinance Bulletin to change over to Type F for Power steering Fluid...

15w50 should be good for you,It's a really good all around Oil....

PS no power steering. Believe it or not I wouldnt change it for the world. The No power brakes I wonder about though.
