 Oil pan follies

Thought everyone here could use a good laugh at my expense.
I was going through some things that I determined needed attention on my 360 and I came across the slightest leak in my oil pan. I guess the factory gasket had given out due to the upswing in driving I had placed on the ranger. I went to the store got a gasket and preceeded to take the pan off. LOW and BEHOLD the pan does not have clearance enough to be removed. Now I have a pan sitting between the front end and the engine. What to do next. Not having the equipment to jack the motor up off the mounts I was force to use some liquid gasket and put it back together.

Go ahead and rib me. Stay tuned as the novice continues his lessons in auto shop 101.

Yes, I have learned if only from that one example, not to mess with the motor. I will come to you all here on the forum for any future advice. I would love to learn how to pull a motor next. However I am limited in the Garage shop department. Currently I park the Ranger in a barn with a dirt floor. Not the most condusive area to pull a motor. Not sure what I will do. The more I get under and look around at the truck the more I realize how nice a specimen it could be for someone to do what Kieth is doing. (frame off restore). The reason I say that is there is so little rust. Just some around the battery box and surface rust on the leaf springs etc.
Stay tuned.
