LMC
Overall I guess LMC is a good company for some of those little hard to find parts but my gripe is armrests for the 68-72 trucks. I ordered a set from them and they were really goofy they were a mold type of deal with a coat of paint slapped on them that was flaking off when I opened the bag and the screws did not recess into the armrest they tightened down with the outside of the armrest not a backing plate on the back side. So I was not pleased with this product and sent them back for a refund. As far as plastic pieces like the turn signal lenses I was happy with a set of those. But do not order the armrests! Patrick

Re: LMC
I kinda look at LMC like I do Harbor Freight for tools. Depending on the quality of the restoration/repair you're doing and the funds you have to work with, a lot of their stuff will work but not be correct. Other items are great.
I ordered a set of the stamped steel front cab mounts and got exactly what I figured they were. At the same time I also ordered the rear cab mount bushings and radiator support bushings. I was a little disappointed in what I received, as I could have fabricated something like they sent me. For the rear cab mount, the rubber bushings from LMC are just flat rubber donuts the stock height with bolts, nuts and large flat washers, instead of the stock style as pictured here:
As you can see, the stock pieces had a steel sleeve which will properly locate the bolt in the center of the cab and frame holes. With LMC's setup, there's no way of centering them, short of maybe welding the washers over the hole, essentially narrowing it down to the width of the bolt. Fortunately, one of my parts trucks had this set in great shape so I'll be reusing them instead of the LMC pieces.
If you're planning on buying something from them, it might be a good idea to ask around and see if anyone else has gotten a similar part from them, and ask them what their impressions were.

Re: LMC
My luck with them has been 50/50 which ain't so good considering how much that adds up to. I too still have supports that the shop didn't use, and I paid for but never got a vent wing weatherseal kit, and the steering shaft seal thing that goes to firewall was crap.
My dropped beam saga is well documented at FTE. AIM beams are longer than stock, the DJM ones work great and are same length as stock, but the DJM Tie Rod locater is crap, so use the one from AIM. Master Power Brakes use cheap cheap bearings and pads, and didn't even pack the inner part of my wheel bearings. They were pressed in with grease on outside so you would not think to take them off and inspect on a pre-assembled unit, glad my dropped beam problems caused the shop to find this out.
And I'm still trying to get the controls on my Vintage Air to do what they say they do.

Re: LMC
I hear ya on the cab mount bushings. I destroyed mine on removal sleeves bushings and bolts. I searched for replacements and not just a bunch of hardware and came up with a whole lot of nuthin. I tried to remove a few sets from junkers and the only ones I ever got were so radiator support sleeves. I ordered the prothane poly mounts along with almost every other suspension rubber piece from them and I think they'll last alot longer than the rubber did. But back to the sleeves I purchased a body mount hardware kit form James duff broncos for a 66-77 bronco and constructed my own out of the kit. Came out nice but still not original but I'm sure they will actually come apart next time. Then about a week after I was done I found the sleeves for sale indivindualy for sale on a bronco site but I can't remember it and they wanted 30 bucks each! I bough my whole hardware kit for that.

Re: LMC
OK a guy on FTE hunted down some current Part#'s for the bushing sleeves. After I looked for mine for a year and tried my ford dealers with no luck. And I would have brought some down there but had none I could of used to match some up. Also the site I was on was bronco graveyard that sells the sleeves also but for 20 and 9 bucks The part #'s for the ones at ford are D3TZ1000155B and D3TZ1000396C interchange #EOTZ1000396B Hope this helps u guys out. Too late for me I already made my own! Man the things that anger me!
