Auto Literature
Faxon Auto Literature. Any one else ever deal with them? I've only had good luck there, good material. Any other good sources of books and/or manuals you know of?

Re: Auto Literature
I'm an information junkie...I have to have an entire library stocked with reference books, vintage factory brochures and catalogs and what-not. Between my Olds and my Ford, I've invested a tidy amount into reference material. Much of it was bought online. As a matter of fact, I just bought another book from Faxon...it should be arriving in the mail any day now. I've had dealings with Faxon several times in the past through E-bay and have been 100% satisified every time. No complaints whatsoever.
I've also bought a lot of automotive literature through Pat Roberts on E-bay(username 'parob'). He has an online store there called Paper-n-Parts and has an incredible selection of stuff. He's also been great to deal with and comes highly recommended.

Re: Auto Literature
Like you guys I dig finding anything related to my 67, I got the Complete Ford Manuals at swap meet(s) all several years ago over a couple-three years, even got the Pre-Model year one they sent out to give them a heads up on what to expect, also have several brochures and sales sheets, even got the "67000 miles at Riverside CA raceway in a 67 brochure". I even have some Hot Rod mags from that era that had articles on FE engines. Plus all the Ford Performance books, and rebuilding Ford Engines, Ford Pick Ups, etc. They are all in a room without a computer though, so I rarely see them.

Re: Auto Literature
Hey Trevor: How many volumes are in the '67 manual set? I picked up a 3-volume set on Ebay and thought they were complete, but now I'm wondering. I have:
Maintenance and Lubrication Manual
Shop Manual - Volume 2
Shop Manual - Volume 3
When I bought them, I assumed the Maintenance and Lubrication Manual was Volume 1, but now I'm starting to wonder. Is that just a supplement and I'm missing Volume 1?

Re: Auto Literature
I guess I'll answer that one since I found the skinny maint/lube manual with volume one (ID, brakes, suspension, axle, drive shaft, manual and auto tranny sections) and volume two (engine, ignition, fuel cooling and exhaust). I wish I had volume three (charging, starting, lighting, etc; hvac, body and trim/seats). There are four books. My books are also 67. Any links, etc regarding literature is always appreciated.
Joe
(ps: the index in each book should show the other two volumes in dark gray)

I had to go dig them out.
For 1967 Ford Truck, from Ford Service Publications,
I Have:
Preliminary Shop Manual- to alert dealerships of changes
Maintenance & Lubrication Manual - the obvious
Shop Manual Volume One - Vehicle ID, Brakes, Suspension,
Steering, wheels & tires, Rear Axle, Drive Shaft &
Clutch, Man. Shift Trans. (this is Thickest one)
Shop Manual Volume Two - Engine, Ignition System, Fuel,
Cooling, Exhaust
Shop Manual Volume Three - Charging sysytem, starting,
Lighting, horn & instruments, Ventilating, heating, Trim
& Seats
I also have Five nice brochures and a Fall 66 Ford Times with 67 Trucks featured.
I'm not bragging just sharing. Later

Re: Auto Literature
Nice little library. Just to share too, I have a CD ROM 67 Ford Truck manul(mostly concentrates on the heavier stuff, but has plenty onfo on our light fleet). 1967-68 F100 F250 Illustrated Facts and fearure manual (from Faxon), 67 F series brochure (e bay), a complete 1936 shop manual for my GM project(also Faxon). I plan on adding to it.

Re: Auto Literature
Well, I guess I should keep my eyes open for Shop Manual Vol 1. Some of the other things I've picked up recently are the '67 Ford Truck Service Specifications book, an original '67 Owner's Manual (in great shape), a 36-page 1967 Ford Car and Truck Accessories catalog and a '67 factory brochure.
When I started working on my Studebaker pickup I got the shop manual on CD and was pretty disappointed. They were just crude scans of the original, very hard to read and totally unreadable when printed....which is why I opted for the paper version on for the Ford. Ironbelly: what was your impressions of the Ford CD? Are the pages saved as PDF files, jpegs, or what?

Re: Auto Literature
PDF files. I havn't tried to print any of the pages yet, but, the pages and iullustrations are very clear and readable. It has a menue to get to the basic section you need to look up. I like the Ford CD. it really helped when I re did my entire clutch to go with the freshly planted 390, resurfaced flywheel,NOS pressure plate and all. I reffered to it several times throughout the prosess.
The only drawback is sifting through the larger series truck info. It leaves the detailed searching up to the user, page at a time.
