Pea**** or Truck WOW Where do I start. Two weeks ago I look through a Farmers Market type bulliten looking for a new peahen for my recently widowed pea****. Dang Coyotes. I find this nice elderly gentlemen up the road and enquire as to whether or not he has any peahens for sale. He says sure come on by and we will take a look. I take a city friend and his young boy with myself and my young son. I tell my friend that who knows we may see something interesting.
Well Low and Behold. We drive up and I immediately notice this truck sitting in a barn. We get out and up come the elderly farmer gentlemen. We shake hand and he says, "So you want to buy and peahen?"
To which I replied, "Yes I came to buy a Peafowl, but I might leave with that truck!!!!!!"
Make a long story short, I bought the peahen. I arranged to call him the following Saturday. He said to come on over and we will talk about it.
I drive over alone and sit on his porch and he proceeds to tell me all abouth the truck. He bought it new in 1968 and used it solely for the purpose of pulling a camper around a few weeks out of the year.
The truck is 100% original with the exception of the Radio. Every gauge and light works normally. He has never done a thing to it. Still has the original 360 with its little carb.
Well I have little to no interest in restoring automobile(or Trucks for that Matter) but this seemed like a deal destined to be made. Yesterday I struck the final deal drove it home.
Now here I am needing to learn what to do next with a truck like this. I was researching the VIN when I found this site. Looks like I have hours of reading ahead of me.
Look forward to reading and learning about my new truck.

Re: Pea**** or Truck Hey there 1968Ranger...welcome to the forums. Yes, there's a lot of really good information on the website, and whatever isn't covered there can be asked here. A lot of very knowledgeable Ford pickup owners check in here daily, so I have no doubt that we can help you out with about any question you have.
You'll have to post a pic when you can of your new hobby...and it WILL become a new hobby, you know. It's inevitable and unavoidable...don't fight it.

Re: Pea**** or Truck Thanks for the kind words. I read your banishment story and said to myself this is where I want to find my info. First things first. I must find some wheels and tires. I believe the ones on there now are the original rubber. The sidewalls are split up and down. I can't believe they hold air.

Re: Pea**** or Truck When I try to go there, I get the following message: "An error has occurred. You do not appear to be the owner of this album. Make sure you are logged in."
You'll have to log out and visit your album like anyone else online would, and post that link instead.
