IFS for 51 ford pickup
Hi, I've been scouring the internet for information on IFS for my '51 merc 1/2 ton, when I came across http://www.industrialchassisinc.com/. Unfortunately I haven't found much information from others about their products but I figure what better place to ask than here. Their dakota IFS solution sounds interesting because of relative installation ease (I am no fabricator by any stretch).
Seeing as it's an IFS developed for a truck I figured this would be a better solution than a mustang II or volaire clip, but a friend disagrees saying that the rack and pinion steering unit is weak, the spring rates are not enough to handle my truck and the disc brakes are not adequate because they are .889 inches where 1.120 would be better. I want a good ride for my truck, it will be a daily driver, but I still need it to perform like a truck when required.
Their dokota IFS looks good, especially to a 'wet-behind-the-ears' guy like myself, but I'm can anyone address these issues to make my decision a little easier.
Thanks.

jerchap: Welcome to the forums! However, these forums are more of an archive....the forums have been upgraded and updated, and are located at the following URL:

Go ahead and ask your question there, as I doubt many people are popping in here much anymore, unless they're researching old topics.
