swapping sides with i beams
With a 460 mounted center on the frame a steering box clearence issue has come up while tring to fit the power steering box. There is only an 1 1/2" clearence between the box and the cylinder head.
with a lot of thinking it would be easier to put the box in front of the crossmember instead of behind it.Like the 4x4 setup. Althought we do not want all the extra linkage on our show truck that we are trying to clean up.
Rack & pinion won't work for there is not enough room between the crossmember and the oil pan.
The question put forth to the group is this. Would it be possible to swap I-beam asemblies ( steering linkage and all ) from one side to the other allowing the steering linkage to be in the front?

Re: swapping sides with i beams
Hey there...long time no see. I hate to be a pain, but the forums have moved. Check out the new upgrades forums at http://www.fordification.com/forums and post your question there. That's where everyone else is at these days.
