Re: swap meet finds
I don't have much for guns anymore9( my Alaska sidearm, a Mossberg slugster and a 45 Colt/410 Thompson) but I do have maybe 100 knives.
So, don't you have a Springfield 03 or a Garand laying around that you need some tracers or APs for? I don't think I can sell ammo on ebay.

Re: swap meet finds
If you happen to run across any more good deals at swap meets for an aluminum FE manifold, pick it up for me. After checking the prices of new, I'm thinking I could just get a good used one and spend an afternoon glass-beading it. I'm probably going to start assembling engine pieces for my 390 in the near future.

Re: swap meet finds
I think we are all looking for a deal on a aluminum FE manifold to some degree. I would love to find a dbl plane for $160. A nice score for sure!

Re: swap meet finds
I always ask the venders that sell used manifolds for FE ones and they always say the same thing. They don't get very many and they sell them as soon as the get them. The vender I got mine from had bought it at Pate for $140.
I am a little concerned that it has no splash shield on the bottom, that it will cook on the oil under the heat crossover. I am thinking I may just weld the cross over shut if it weren't for ruining the value of the manifold. Maybe I can find some gaskets that have the heat cross over blocked off.

Re: swap meet finds
Get you a "Valley Oil Shield" and that will stop the Oil for the most part from hitting the Bottom of the Intake.
**** Mine does not have one and I just took it apart 2 months ago and there was no Problem*****
Valley Oil Pan on eBay
Yes,You can get a set of Intake gaskets that have the Cross of Blocked off.I can't remember the Part # but it was a FelPro set..

Re: swap meet finds
I got home yesterday with a very straight but dull 68-69 Ranger grille missing the center emblem,
a bendix steering box,
a complete spare tire carrier that was taken off when new and still appears new,
a Chevy 3 speed overdrive tranny,
pedal assembly-rod-Z bar and shifter boot from a 68 Z/28,
a very nice set of headlamp doors for a 62 chevy car,
one nice headlamp door for a 66 or 67 Nova
and
a real nice pair of vintage Unity driving lights.
Eveything is for sale but I havent got it all priced yet. The Chevy stuff will go on ebay soon. The Ford stuff I will leave available here for a spell. When I was looking at the Z28 pedals the guy sold a whole set of almost new roller rockers for $50. I am trying to get into the chevy parts more because they sell better. I even slipped over to the dark side and bought a 75 Malibu wagon from an old friend who can't drive anymore. It is nice and straight with new tires and cold a/c. I paid $450 and I am thinking I will buff out the dull paint and double my money on it, or maybe drop it 3inches, put on some 18s and some good tunes and have a low budget cruiser.
Also last week I bought 2 Honda 70 three wheelers at an auction and a Honda 125 4 wheeler at a yard sale which will all be for sale soon. They are all in decent condition but both of the 70s need minor carb work and the 125 needs rings.
Also at the swap meet yesterday I looked long and hard at a 3 deuce set up for a 390 for $700 but decided that it was no bargain it that condition. It had two of the correct carbs but one was melted inside from a backfire and the linkage was incomplete. It did have the fuel log and original air cleaner.
