Back Window
I have one of those camper type rear windows on my 67, the kind that allow you slide open the glass. Anyhow, I cut the old seal off as I had a new one laying around and now I can't get the *&^%^& thing back in. How the heck do you do it? I have the gasket installed on the window unit. I put string (well, actually it's weed wacker material) around inside the groove and I'm trying to shove the *&^& thing onto the lip on the body in the window area. There has to be an easier way! Socorro!

Re: Back Window
Might try lubing it up with some WD-40. Might let it slip in a little easier. I hear the gaskets sold now, are made for thinner glass than the originals. Don't know if thats an issue, being you seem to have the gasket on the window ok.. MK

Re: Back Window
Try using some really soapy water on the inside of the gasket. Tire shops use that to help tires go on easier.

Re: Back Window
All the above and then, set the gasket groove along the bottom lip of the opening then have somebody push on the outside and while they are applying steady pressure pull the string out. Use some 3/8" nylon rope. It will work better.

Re: Back Window
Failure! My son and I couldn't get the *&^&* window in so we took it to a pro. Looks good. With real focus, after awhile I will likely have myself convinced that we did it ourselves on a Saturday morning.
