The good news:
I got my TARDIS cell phone charm in the mail yesterday. emoticon emoticon

The bad news:

It doesn't spin and flash with my phone. emoticon emoticon

*kicks stupid Verizon - first no service in England, and now it won't play nice with my nifty new charm*

If it wasn't for the fact that I have a cell phone courtesy of my parents family plan, I'd switch carriers.

Hmm. . . emoticon

emoticon Don't lose heart, you may yet be surprised. Mine doesn't spin and flash every time, but when it does, I majorly go SQUEE!!

Hey, it's not Verizon's fault. emoticon American and European mobiles use different frequencies. To get service in England with an American mobile, you need a multi-frequency handset. And I'm thinking that might be the same problem the TARDISes (TARDII?) are having. But again, it does work some of the time.

(Oddly, my England phone was able to hook into the AT&T network here! I found out completely by accident.)

emoticon Thank you for that ray of hope. I will keep my eye on it, and patiently wait.

*phew* Although my TARDIS won't always work, that does make me feel better. I've never had any problems with Verizon, and I like this phone (except for the fact that there is no place to attach the charm - it's currently on my purse next to the pocket where I keep my phone). Maybe when it comes time to upgrade, instead of taking the free phone I'll kick in a few quid to get a better phone.

And, since there is hope, I'll no return to my regularily scheduled jumping up and down in excitement!

Gotta love new obsessions and all the fun stuff that goes with it!

Oh no, it started!

We have a new time clock here at work that we are testing. You have to enter in a user id and swipe your hand. The lower the score, the better. This afternoon when I went to lunch I got a score of 5!!!!

One of the guys that I work with/flirt with said that I went into the computer and changed my score.

I instantly replied (rather sarcastically I might add) "Yes I did it instantly with my sonic screwdriver."

*facepalm*

I don't know what's worse:

The fact that I haven't even finished watching Season 1 yet and I already managed to reference the show WITHOUT THOUGHT (nevermind that I'm hoplessly obsessed and searching out all the fun things I can find, like avatars, fanfic. . .)

~or~

The fact that no one got the reference. emoticon

emoticon Very few people get my references, either. That's why I liked Mel from the moment I first saw her on IMDb - she made a reference that I always make, and we continue to amuse each other with obscure jokes. emoticon

BTW, Mel wants to know if you've seen her Doctor Who fanfic(s). emoticon

I think we have too. If I remember correctly we first got mobiles way back when Verizon was Bell Atlantic.

emoticon emoticon Thanks!

That you have, indeed!

On the one hand I am very stubborn and unbending, but on the other hand I am very prone to corruption/obsession. (Of course, I'm a firm believer that you can't make someone do something that they don't already want to do anyway. . .)

I think my friend Dianne even *facepalm*ed after I explained the reference to her.

That's one of the many things I enjoyed about our time in London. People understood me! My best friend is the only one who gets my references most of the time, but that's because she and I have seen many of the same shows/movies. Other people get references I make all the time, but I think that's only because they've heard it before.

Speaking of London and references:

My mother and I watched Labyrinth the other day (her request!!!) and the answer is yes. During one of the many "it's a piece of cake" (stupid Sarah, keep your mouth shut!) moments - specifically the one resulting in the Cleaners - Sarah calls Hoggle 'Hogwart' in an attempt to (incorrectly) correct Jareth.

So, we were remembering correctly. And how ironic that that was the scene I quoted to make you think of it?!

Yes I have, but I'm saving them. I have one more week of class and a final left, and I know that I won't get any work done if I start reading them now. Mostly because I know I'll try to read them in as close to one sitting as possible.

So tell Mel that I'm saving them as a "Yay the semester's over!!!" treat to myself. emoticon

Although, I suppose the real question will be: can I wait that long to read them?

**

I just finished "The Parting of the Ways" last night. I was just going to watch two episodes and then go to bed. . .But when "Bad Wolf" ended I couldn't go to sleep without watching the last episode.

There were a couple moments that I went:
emoticon

And then, even though I knew it was coming, I still emoticon . I did chuckle a little through my tears at the end thankfully.

Now I have to wait until Friday for S2 D1 to get here! Thank goodness for the extras disk and instant viewing!

I'll stop nattering on now.

Was it? emoticon I can't remember.

Make sure you go into the Bonus Features first and watch the Children in Need special! It's a "fill-in" scene between the end of Series 1 and the beginning of Series 2, and it really does fill some things in that needed doing so.
