A marvellous mental image
I've been walking around all damned day with this image in my head so, vicious, villainous and vindictive vixen that I am (see what it's done to me? Alliteration is contagious!) I'm going to spread it around a bit...
I was musing upon the scene when V escorts Evey outside so she can get some air. You know, I think I'd change it just a little bit. He should have picked her up and carried her up to the roof.
Put yourself in Evey's place: You're sick, dizzy and weeping, but as V slides his arms around you and lifts you as if you were as light as a newborn kitten, you lay your head upon his shoulder and inhale slightly, absorbing his soft musky scent, tinted with the merest breath of the Scarlet Carsons that he has grown, tended and loved for many years.
This V is a creature of pure cold steel and colder vengeance, but now, cradling your shaking form close to his chest, he is gentle and tender in a way that's rendered all the more poignant for the realisation that this is a moment of fragile human intimacy that he, too, had never dreamed of before.
There. Now none of YOU are going to be able to get rid of that delicious thought, either!

Re: A marvellous mental image
Damn you! Don't you realize I have work to do??
I'll never be able to think of that scene the same way again. In much the same way that the last 3 times I've seen the movie, I've heard Finch say, "Your pants are either deleted, omitted, or missing," thanks to that thread on the IMDb board! ARGH!
Anyway, maybe he did carry her to the lift and up, but it was important to her to walk onto the roof under her own power?
(THANK YOU!)

Re: A marvellous mental image
This is why I, as a man, shouldn't be in this group.
Seriously... Once everything is in order, I'm outta here... I'll leave it to the horny females...

Ohh, come on, boss. We probably need a bloke around to keep us grounded Besides, most men would give their right arms to be in this position. You could be onto a good thing here, especially if you have a V mask and a sexy voice...!

Bless you, Leda, for having the guts I didn't to say what I was thinking. I can see I'm going to have to loosen up a bit if I'm going to hang out around here...

Thank you for saying that!!!! I thought the very same thing --- "Why didn't he CARRY her"?!? I also would have liked to see him pick her up and carry her off on the security video Finch was watching. It's just so sexy when a man does that!!

Re: A marvellous mental image
This has given me an idea, Ivonne - do you think we might want a fanfic forum in here? I for one have found myself becoming quite...poetic in the wake of this film, as you can see!

Yes, knowing what I know now, I would have liked to have seen that. However, seeing the movie for the first time and not seeing that, there was so much "HUH??" to the moment when Finch said, "Well, whatever he is, she's stuck with him, for better or worse." I thought that was damn good editing.
