The little things that sparkled
I'm a virgo, which means I'm a hyper-critical, nit-picking withering harpy when it comes to details that feel wrong - but it means I also really appreciate the little things that just complete the moment, that really elevate it into something magical - even in the tiniest way.
And virgo or not, I'm sure I'm not the only one here who noticed lovely, tiny glimmers in the film that stood out and just made everything even better.
For example, the tiny flick V gives his cloak when walking to the lift in the BTN building; the way he tilts his head when he answers 'never' to Delia; the proffered, and gently rejected, coat that Evey doesn't need when she's 'reborn'.
Which ones sparkle for you? (Though you don't need to list them all at once ;)

Oh my good gawd, YES. There was something beautifully insouciant about that movement, wasn't there?

I replied to this, and it's not here.
Which means my reply is probably floating around in some dreadfully inappropriate place embarassing itself.
Excuse me for just one moment...

Blimey but I'm a numpty. It's gone. Sodded off into the nether-regions where messages go to die. Probably because genius here just hit 'preview' instead of 'submit'.
I'm getting a brain for christmas, huzzah.
I had originally just lauded you for your delightful use of the word 'insouciant', which fit as perfectly as one of his own leather gloves. Rarr.

And, I have to add, that terrific leap across the roof of the Cathedral (?) (just before the visit to the Bishop) where he slides sharply to an elegant stop on the slate tiles.
If more men could do this (if any, in real life could do this) we'd be in trouble.

Goodness me, agreed. If a man came leaping to MY rescue like that, I think I'd end up in a warm, sticky puddle on the floor, with big, fluffy pink hearts exploding out of my ears.

For some reason, I just love him sliding down the roof of the cathedral. I don't know why I just HAVE to watch that scence, I don't even blink.

Yay, another Virgo! (finally, someone who will understand my "isms"!)
This is a great topic, BTW, since this movie is filled with little things that sparkle. The rooftop scene is at the top of my list, definitely. It happened so quickly yet electrified me to the point that I got goosebumps each time I saw it.
The attention to detail V took was fun to watch. Remember the swipe of the gloved hand down the side of his boot as he was preparing to leave the Shadow Gallery at the beginning of the movie? It was a tiny gesture, yet it said so much about him.
Another thing I noticed was his posture. Whether he was sitting or standing, it was always impeccable.

Re: The little things that sparkled
Here's a moment. Just after the torture, when Evey comes to about a hair's breadth from V's face and you think she might... I dunno. DO something.
And there's this wonderful pause, and you can almost HEAR V's heart pounding as he waits, breathless, for whatever is about to happen next.
Now if it were any other cheesy film, that would've been directly followed by him shucking the mask; a messy, awful kiss; the two of them shucking their clothes; and a whole lot of nooky. But it WASN'T, and for me that made it sparkle all the more.
The sexual tension in the film was wonderful. I had a sense of the man without him being leering or creepy as antiheroes sometimes are.
