Re: The little things that sparkled
I have to agree the roof-sliding on the Cathedral scene was excellant. I loved the way his cloak floated in the air.

Oh and in the beginning when he's getting read to go out onto the streets and he slips on his boots and then just looks at it and dusts it off or something with his hand - that was good.

Re: The little things that sparkled
All those little mannerisms of his, those little Mister-Darcy, uptight/ English, must-be-impeccable habits he shows in the film perfectly compliment the person he must be.
How else does one man who lives alone, in a 'house' that no-one else ever sees, keep it so tidy? Everything organised into niches; each of the black costumes impeccably clean and like new. It's all rather obsessive-compulsive, but makes sense..

Re: The little things that sparkled
Everything that's been said, and... um... ::thinks::
The little wrist-twist as he "presented" the egg and asked if she'd like some tea... The slight tilt to his head just after he'd raised it, as he said, "My turn."... The smooth, regal motions of his head, body, cloak as he turned away from Sutler, saying, "Mr. Creedy..." - fully in charge of the situation, like he's holding court in that abandoned tube station...

Oooh, how about this? When Creedy's men are searching the area in the abandoned station, and suddenly they hear that melodious voice say, "Penny for the guy" and they all swing around and focus their lights on him.
It's a small and economical moment, but you can read into it, as clearly as it it had been subtitled thus: "It's arse-kicking time, boys!"

I almost mentioned that. One of my favorite things about that moment is the way his head is lowered at first, hiding the white mask, and then he raises it ever so slowly... When the first Fingerman turned, you know all he saw was this pillar of shadow...

Re: The little things that sparkled
I do love the way he lowers his face into darkness at the beginning when saying 'dramatis persona' just as if it really was the beginning of a play and he was the stage itself going dark... then 'Voilá!' and he throws back his cloak.
Lovely, always makes me laugh.

Re: The little things that sparkled
AND - oh god, only remembered this yesterday - there is a moment I loved in the rather fabulous fight scene in the BTN building...
After we see V use policemen as shields, when they took the bullets meant for him as he wheels around them with balletic speed, he has a little finale move that is just delicious: as fast as lightening he slides up to the last remaining policeman until his mask is a bare inch away from the man's face... for a few tense seconds neither moves... then V turns on his heel, his hair whipping the policeman's face and a metallic 'swish' is all we hear before the policeman chokes, realises his throat's been slit, and drops.
I think it was the swishy hair that did it for me.

Re: The little things that sparkled
For me the best moment had to have been the 'duel' with the suit of armor. It was so flamboyant and 'Errol Flynn' with the little 'ah ha!'s' and such along with the graceful little movements..Definately my favorite overall moment.

It was a very comic-book moment, wasn't it? You almost got the impression of movement lines around him at that point.
