Hi VV!
Hi circusgirl

V is still the perfume of lost roses to me,,still the radiant man of Night in whose shadow I feel strong.

please feel free to rhapsodize: try twisting the 'V' monologue into another letter; pick up on the Disturbing Themes of S&M, or the Erotic dynamics; find a sparkle, manip a photo.

work with play the happy differentiation!

Welcome, circusgirl! You know, it really only takes about three or four people to have a good conversation. Heck, two really committed veeks will do. And if you look back in the "archives" I think you'll see that this was true even in the "good old days."
"V4V" is a cult film. Unlike "The Matrix" it never really reached the level of viewership it deserved. Maybe someday it will reach a critical mass of people and it will be re-discovered as a hidden gem of a film.

The only difference now is that the real world politics have changed somewhat. In March of 2006, we were still locked in a benign dictatorship of sorts which is mirrored in the film. Today we have an administration who's heart is in the right place, but their hands are tied by "the system." Nothing has really changed, in fact things are actually worse for most people, but our emotional response to our government is different.

Still the movie lives on, not only in OUR hearts but in the programming schedules of action-oriented TV channels like F/X who occasionally stage multiple showings of "V4V" either because they can't think of anything better to run, or because they are contractually obligated to do so. (Warner's to F/X: Hey, you want rights to show "Batman Returns?" Then you gotta show this puppy "V4V!")

Good for us, because TV occasionally brings in more people than DVD sales and theater tickets ever will.
So how did you get hooked and how did you find the Shadow Gallery?

And Voracious Voyeur, it's good to know that you've passed the Veek Profile with flying colors. For me it's always reassuring to know I'm not the only one who feels this way. (That's why we STAY here.)

Oh, and P.S.: HAPPY THIRD ANNIVERSARY LOSG!!! "V4V" opened exactly three years ago on St. Patrick's Day 2006. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Yes, a very happy anniversary to V4V and its small but wise population of devotees!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I would never have been...well never say never...but I ran like mad and eluded V til he showed up on FX. Maybe I was in a weaker state of mind, or was it the multiple viewings..?

I noticed last fall that whoever does scheduling @ FX at least tried to get it on the "right" day. It was on the schedule several times very close to the 5th. I like to think that there's a Veek responsible for that. Maybe it's him emoticon

I notice V still shows up on the "you'll also like" shelf at the video store whenever a similar themed new release comes out.

Thank you, for the warm welcome :)
I've spent quite some time in the 'little things that sparkle' thread, just reading about all the wonderful things about our favourite vigilante. *dreamy sigh*

I'm so jealous of the people who got to see him in IMAX. Goodness, I would have died from swooning to much.

I never actually saw the movie in theatres, I don't know why. I rented it, though, and I was on the edge of my seat the whole movie. I immediately (sp?) fell in love with V. He's the perfect man... Intelligent, strong, caring... Kicks fingermen-ass like nobody else. *sigh*
emoticon

I wandered upon this site when I was looking for a place where I could buy V-knives, actually, haha (I'm dressing up as him for a party in a few weeks). emoticon

Have fed my V-obsession with a, I think, 3rd re-read of PEAhopeless' fiction.

Well, that's it for now, I'm off to read a bit more from the 'archives'!

Haha. And a special shelf for pending ones?

Check. emoticon I've actually started reading some of my "pending" books - and then bought more! emoticon

Welcome to circusgirl! Nice to see some new names after such a long, quiet spell! emoticon (And yes, V in IMAX was... Image!! Just imagine the Image three stories(?) high and wonderfully deafening! emoticon)

WTF, I'll uncloak and say Hi.
Dropped in for a lurk after a month of "Watchmen" Movie (IMAX) and GN getting my Alan Moore juices flowing again.
The guy is a certified wacko, but he sure knows how to provoke a thought or two.

A warm welcome to circusgirl and Voracious Voyeur; and my warm regards to old friends!
