I had a slight V-moment today. I picked up some boring, pooey old newsletter from an industrial engineering company, glanced at the front page and saw an article about a conference being held in the autumn.

The title of this article?

Remember, Remember the 8th of November emoticon

I had another little moment at work...!

I was sorting through a stack of post, when I came across something that shouldn't have been in there. I took it back to its rightful owner, and do you know what word she used to describe me? Vigilant emoticon

emoticon Me, too! The short version would be: I got an email from a client yesterday (4th in a series we were trading) thanking me for my vigilance.

My last name starts with a "V" and if I don't clarify, I get my name misspelled with a Z, C, B, D, etc, especially over the phone. I usually use "V as in Victor..." but I used "V as in Vendetta" the other day, and the lady on the phone paused for a really long time, then said, "O...kay..." emoticon

I just caught a bit of 'Without a Trace' and a blonde woman walks on with an 'Evey' shirt (very similar to the one she wore at the BTN building) and as I was pondering over the shirt (and how much nicer it would look on me) the woman leant over to her partner and said 'if you're looking for Natalie Portman she's over there'.
I actually did this --> emoticon

Today while filling out an information card on a new customer, I asked him his last name. When he said "Prothero" I actually dropped the pen!

My two V moments:

I realized that since my 7th or 8th viewing of the movie I've been mini-leaping, more like bouncing, off of curbs while crossing the street; and I'm sure this is directly related to V! :)

And...I was at Borders tonight; I have a gift card and wanted to use it. I found one book I wanted, one CD I wanted to replace, and...walking past a display, inadvertantly came across a Tchaikovsky CD...a few actually.

I picked out one and bought it. :) I actually have always liked his sound; it's very distinctive, but my V-obsession makes it a greater liking!

And I forgot to buy Macbeth! I want to reread it; I read it first in 8th grade and again in college. But I do need to finish the V for Vendetta graphic novel first...I have my priorities, with all due apologies to Mr. Shakespeare. emoticon

I had a vicarious moment on the plane hone today. Virgin are a damned good airline in terms of inflight entertainment, and one of their more recent introductions is a personal jukebox containing several dozen albums to choose from.

One of which was...(drumroll) "I Am A Bird Now" by Antony and the Johnsons. Incidentally, "Bird Gerhl" is Track 10 on that album - V+V emoticon

well, I actually bothered to practice fencing today...
(hardcore fencer here-woot)
and at the club, we always have music playing, most of the people there find it "inspiring".
and you know what starts playing while I was in the middle of a bout?
the 1812 Overture.
I loved it.
won the bout too emoticon

Today I got a call that I`m invited to audition for Alminera part ( Rinaldo). I`ve asked how many other singers will be auditioned and they told me they want to hear more than 40 of us, to decide who they want. Actually I was going to say no after he told me that , but he said he will still keep me on the list and he`s already giving me a number five on the list. After I heard that I just said yes...

Sing what you can`t say
Forget what you can`t play

Never sigh for a better world
It`s already composed played and told
I`m sorry
And you... I wish I didn`t feel for you anymore
