posticon Let's get lowbrow, shall we?

Today, I bought a book just for the title alone. It's The Day My Bum Went Psycho, by Australian author Andy Griffiths. Here's the synopsis:

Zack's bottom has run away to join the great bum rebellion. But Zack's not taking such bare-faced cheek lying down. He joins Eleanor the Bum Hunter as she braves the Brown Forest and faces a butt-filled bumcano, determined to track down the cheeky behinds and get to the bottom of their bad behaviour. But the united bums, led by the odorous Great White Bum, get wind of their plan - and a butt battle to end all butt battles must follow! This is a hilarious, comic action thriller, pun-packed and pacy!

If I enjoy this, I'm probably going to check out the sequels. All three of them emoticon

The synopsis alone was worth the price of the book! emoticon

So how's the story so far? Any juicy tidbits you can share?

Well, it's not badly written, I must say! It's aimed at the 9-12 year old segment, so it's simplistic, but by God, this man has a fabulous imagination emoticon

"Now, the latest from DOWN UNDER, a new book by Andy Griffiths, the Terry Pratchett of Toilet Humour:
"The Day My Bum Went Psycho" soon to be a major motion picture."

 emoticon

I read a great book a few years ago called "The Roaches Have no King" - a novel that gave me sympathy for the lives of ****roaches. (gotta give em credit just for that!)

The main character, a roach with a literary name(he grew up in the book case), falls in love with his landlord's (human) girlfiriend. Much outrageousness ensues, with enlightening tours through the back walls and sewers of an apartment building, the various cultures of the bugs that live there, and how humans appear to them.
