That is one of my favorites! I love that it is used in the movie "Soldier" (with Kurt Russell).
That's what first led me to that song and, from there, to the rest of Loreena's work I fell in love with her voice from the first few bars.

Re: Myths and Stories
Me too. I first heard her voice over the radio over a program called "Musical Starstreams" on Sunday nights. She sang, "Prospero's Speech" and I instantly fell in love with her voice. From there, I liked "Mystic Dream" that was played in an old series called "Roar" (Heath Ledger's first role which I wish would be put on DVD).

Re: Myths and Stories
(For those of you who have the album, listen to the first few verses of "The Highwayman" and tell me you don't think of V, by the way. I'll find it on the 'Net somewhere...)

Re: Myths and Stories
The Highwayman is my favorite song of hers. Been a fan of McKennit for a long time. I only wish she'd make some more albums.

Re: Myths and Stories: V, Zorro and "Cloak & Dagger" icons
We have had a little Zorro film fest around here, with Antonio Banderas leaping about in a black cape with a sword, (riding a VERY fine black horse I might add).
I remember loving the 1920 Douglas Fairbanks Sr. Zorro as a kid.. (lucky me - I got dragged to silent movies with pipe organ accompaniement!, including the Lon Chaney Phantom)
But I had forgotten the story, and I was enchanted with Zorro the wealthy don working against corruption on behalf of the working man, and being pivotal in the founding of California.
So, any of you students of culture care to weigh in on this question:
Is the Cloak and Dagger (anti) hero a euro-culture phenomenon? are there similar characters in asian, indiginous or other cultures?

Well, I don't know how 'cultural' this is, but in anime, there are some anti-hero types. Two of them that I can think of are "Vampire Hunter D" (who reminds me of V in a lot of ways) and "Lady Death." Both characters, although not altogether political, can be considered antiheroes.
Right off the bat, I can't think of any non-euro types but if I do, I'll let you know.
