Re: Myths and Stories
quote: Well, I don't know how 'cultural' this is, but in anime, there are some anti-hero types. Two of them that I can think of are "Vampire Hunter D" (who reminds me of V in a lot of ways) and "Lady Death." Both characters, although not altogether political, can be considered antiheroes.
where can we find them? film? manga?

Re: Demeter's Daughter
iseult, I agree, it's not a direct "fit" to V, but the atmosphere reminds me of him. And the cloak and dagger (rapier) thing of course. :)

They originally started off as Manga but were turned into films. I never read the manga for them but I have seen the movies, and they are pretty good (although I would see the second Vampire Hunter: Blood Hunter rather than the original)
I always thought Vampire hunter was V like in a way...

Where Arthur was born, right? Have you read Mists of Avalon? the movie version from a few years ago had amazing scenes of that castle on the cliff.
I have never been to Cornwall, but think it must be magical.

Re: Myths and Stories
yes! *happy dance* im not the only mythology (the story of Hades and Persephone has always been a favorite, along with Cupid/Eros and Psyche), culture and anime/manga fiend! anyway, sure there are. boatloads of em, in fact. anime/manga in particular has a massive fanclub devoted to the cloak-n-dagger, antihero/bad-boy type lol i could list em, but thatd take ages and i need to get to work soon Egypt has its share too, the god Seth bein the major one of course, with all the debate over what really happened to Osiris and such hehe native american, norse... yeah, for pretty much any area of the world you care to name, it has its own "tales from the darkside"
