I'll be first in line to buy tickets!
I'll see it if it gets good reviews
I won't if it gets bad reviews
Wild horses couldn't drag me into the theater to see it!

Re: IF...

Although a Prequel, or Sequel can only be hopelessly inferior to the original (but never in my eyes destroy the beauty of the original), I will still be drawn to it like a moth to a flame and will see it subject to the following:

1. Hugo Weaving has to be the masked V! (none of this Evey taking over V's role as freedom fighter bull****).
2. All the characters that we love need to be played by the orginal cast members. How can Prothero, spouting his delusional tirades be played by anyone else than Roger Allam? Can Finch be played by anyone other Stephen Rea, Daddy Dietrich by Stephen Fry and the irrepressible Creedy by Tim Pigott-Smith? I say no way!
3. If there is a Prequel, showing how V came into being, we would obviously need to see him pre Larkhill and burns. The actor they choose for this would have to be in his early twenties (cannot be Hugo) and have the voice, stature, presence, and grace of the V we have come to love (cannot be some creepy Hollywood A list actor). Is there any actor you can think of who could do it, be it, and not dissapoint us in any way?

Penny, I am in complete agreement with you on #1 and #2. Evey taking over V's role really doesn't interest me in the least, too.

To be honest, whenever I've thought of a prequel I only imagined it filmed from Larkhill (or immediately after) through to the night when V and Evey first met. I suppose it could successfully be done pre-Larkhill if they did it in "flash-backs" and had Hugo do narration for whomever portrayed a twenties-ish V onscreen... emoticon

If it's ever made, I personally would prefer that they never show V's face, even as a younger, unscarred man. I think it would detract from the "behind this mask is an idea" theme....

Of course I would go to see it. I guess I would be pretty dissapointed after, but still, I would see it - I don`t care too much about if the movie has good or bad reviews...
But if they want to do soemthing, please , prequel... No sequels...

Okay, I said "I'll see it if it gets good reviews," but I want to elaborate on that - the good reviews would HAVE to come from my fellow Vixens! emoticon Considering the reviews V got from the mainstream critics, I don't know if I would trust good reviews on a follow-up. emoticon It would probably mean the movie was ruined in our eyes and "Hollywood-icized."

Also, I agree with all points made above (Hugo, original actors, etc.), including not seeing pre-V V's face. We have never seen his face up to now, why should we see it even before he donned the mask? Plus, it'd be an interesting challenge for the filmmakers! emoticon I like the "flashback with Hugo narration" idea...

But, ideally, it WILL NOT HAPPEN!

Aren't the choices "I'll see it if it gets good reviews" and "I won't if it gets bad reviews" the same thing? emoticon

I voted for the last one. But before everyone gets out their knives and start going 'V' on me, let me explain..... emoticon

I'd give this a DVD rental or buy it if it was cheap. I agree with Hugo being a must in the movie and not that Evey taking over bit.

Since there was no "I'll wait for the DVD," I chose the last one.

Awww, Lady V, I almost put that on the poll, but then I thought I'd keep it "big-screen", since V4V is so much better that way. emoticon

You're not wrong there - seeing the DVD on my 20" TV is going to be such a let-down! emoticon
