Re: Tattoos 'n' You
I've got three...
#1 is a pentacle, on my left shoulder. I got this when I was 20, just after I broke up with my first boyfriend, who was obsessed with the dratted symbol. I got it to remind me never to go out with a junkie again
#2 is a Red Hot Chilli Peppers symbol (that's this shape, if anyone doesn't know it) on my right shoulder. I got that when I was 24 in memory of a friend who passed away; he was a fellow fan.
#3 is an Emperor penguin on my right ankle. I got that when I was 30 in memory of my mother, who collected penguins.

Re: Tattoos 'n' You
I've got one, on my inner left ankle. It's kind of a stylized unicorn head with a wing shape sweeping around (but not a sissy unicorn, I've been assured. )
I've been mulling over getting another one or rather a pair of them. Carp swimming up river... which becomes a dragon.

Re: Tattoos 'n' You
I don't actually have a PERMINANT tat--got henna on a cruise durring spring break though and freaked my 'rents out. (a rose on my ankle)
unfortunately, I'm pretty much forbidden to get a tatoo until I move out , I dont really plan on it though, 1) I hate needles. hate them...bit of a phobia
2)I'm hestitant about having something perminant on my body, I'd get one if it was really meaningful to me, or for a loved one (in memory of..etc)

Re: Tattoos 'n' You
I'm really enjoying everyone's pictures and descriptions of their tattoos. Thank you for sharing! I don't have any myself due to my fear of needles and long-term commitments, but I do fancy them on others, especially when they hold a special meaning for the wearer. If the opportunity for it comes up, I would love to try a henna tattoo like KatelynD's. It would be the perfect solution for someone like me.
If anyone here should get a V tattoo, please please PLEASE share it with us!

Re: Tattoos 'n' You
I think I said somewhere already that I bought a temporary "Celtic" tattoo once, applied it to my ankle, and purposely wore a skirt to work.
Got some interesting reactions!
I've toyed with the idea of getting one, but don't know what (something Celtic or Chinese, possibly), where, or if I'd really be able to stand the needling.

Re: Tattoos 'n' You
I have a sun on my ankle, I'll post a pic eventually. I have found the BEST concealer for it, if anyone's interested, there's a Rimmel (cheap wal-mart brand) concealer that comes in a lipstick type shape, 2 coats of that and powder, and I look like a sweet, boring doctor again! (I cover it out of consideration for my little old lady patients... )
But I don't regret it at all, I love showing it off, I just am happy that I found a way to cover it when I need to, since I am in a conservative profession...
