Prop 4 is just as bad and almost worse than Prop 8 emoticon I agree with the San Francisco Chronicle in this: "Family communication cannot be forged by government edict, and reckless teen behavior will not be deterred by merely making abortion more difficult".

Absolutely, Flare. Not only that, but those of us who look outside our shiny, happy, my-family-communicates-so-I-just-know-my-daughter-would-come-to-me-with-this-and-I'd-help-her-anyway-I-can bubbles know that having to get parental notification could mean several kinds of abuse or maybe even death for a teen with "less understanding" parents.

This has been your 3am ButMad rant. emoticon

And based on prejudice I'd say that some of the "less understanding" parents might be identical to some of those who votes yes to Prop 4 ( emoticon )

In some cases, those fathers may even be the sire of the parasite their teenage daughter is trying to terminate.

Yes. emoticon

Some people are calling it as passed.

Others are pointing out that the absentee and provisional ballots have not been counted, and that the race is too close to really call it.

Either way, the fight is NOT over.

Prop 22 passed with 61% of the vote.

Prop 8 has (so far) passed with 54% (only 50.4% in L.A. County).

Some people were confused - they thought voting "YES" was a "YES" for same-sex marriage.

I'm personally hoping there's an outcry for a re-vote.

There are already plans for legal challenges.

But my first thought this morning was:
Irony, n. watching one's country elect their first black President whilst one's state votes to discriminate against a portion of its population.
