Arty Varty
A few days ago I posted this:
I was just listening to Cat Power's 'I found a reason' and could suddenly imagine V sat in his beautiful chambers surrounded by paintings and exquisite works of art, listening to that song at night over and over again, for years, alone.
And I had the image so clearly in my mind that it stayed with me, and bothered at me until I tried to pin it down to paper - not unlike those butterflies.
It's not highly-detailed because there's a lot in the picture and I'm impatient, so just a semi-quicky, but it had to be done.
Acrylic, ink and pencil. A4-ish. Be gentle with me.
Edit: to really appreciate this, listen to Cat Power's 'I found a Reason' at the same time ;)
and the work in an earlier stage - yes, I did draw it in a cheap biro, very naughty.
this one's a bit crap really, but makes the finished one look better.

Re: Arty Varty
I can't draw for toffee, but I concur, we DO need an artwork forum. Especially after seeing work of this calibre!

Re: Arty Varty
Ha ha, bless you. :)
It was 'quick', but still took some hours. If I get any more 'unshakeable' images in my head that need to be drawn, I'll certainly be sharing
Unless anyone else has any inspiring suggestions?
(No I ain't drawing him nekkid).
(No Leda, not even for you.)
(Stop looking at me with puppy eyes. It ain't happening.)
..yet.

Re: Arty Varty
Nah, no nudie pictures. Let me put it this way; V is a dashing, romantic hero, not a sex beast And let's be brutal, even if he has got a willy, willies aren't the most attractive thing in the world, are they? "Last turkey in the shop" leaps readily to mind.

Re: Arty Varty
Wish I could draw HALF as well! You have my deepest gratitude, admiration, and envy.
As for not being very detailed, I think the background being a little less detailed works very well - puts the focus where it belongs, on V.
