*pops head in* Very, very, very busy!

Umm, new DISassociation, let's see. . .

Won't get to do the Corporate Challenge this year due to class that I cannot miss (as was my original plan). *pouts* Makes me doubly glad I did the Race for the Cure!

I done got out of the loop again (shall try to do better!):

Eep! and emoticon to Flare re hospitalization.

quote:

ButMad sez:
(and considering I'm likely moving with KittyRoomie to Minnesota and transferring to the campus there - I'm trying to think of it not as "moving away forever," but "going away to school").

emoticon See, this is what happens when I get out of the loop - I miss stuff like this! On the one hand: emoticon you'll be closer to me, but on the other, my instinct was to say: emoticon .

quote:

ButMad: 2 months, 2 weeks, 2 days until Heather comes! emoticon
Sister: yay!
Sister: who's Heather?

emoticon At this point, I'm not entirely sure I'm going to get to do the San Diego Race for the Cure. But seeing as my parents and I are flying to the UK 6 days after the race, I'm thinking I can still do it if I fly back to California a week early...

See, I figure it'd cost just as much to move my departure from LAX to Minneapolis as it would be for me to fly back to CA to go with my parents. And then I can help them through the process, as I'd like to.

Anyway. AH is flying out here tomorrow night to spend time with Da Kitty (and while he's here, we'll discuss some strategy). Then I'm going out to the desert for the rest of AH's visit to discuss strategy with my fam. So we'll see.

emoticon

And have I mentioned applying for grad school is a pain in the arse?

quote:

emoticon See, this is what happens when I get out of the loop - I miss stuff like this!

emoticon At least this is all happening AFTER your visit! And I'm sad that I'm going to have to give up my Disneyland AP (it expires on the 21st, and I don't see the point of renewing), but I have money set aside so I can buy a one-day ticket for when you, me, and Da Kitty go. emoticon

quote:

On the one hand: emoticon you'll be closer to me,

emoticon I thought of that, too! emoticon

quote:

but on the other, my instinct was to say: emoticon .

emoticon Yeah. But I think ultimately it's the best of my options. Mel and I have gotten in the habit of saying, "Not moving away. A strategic relocation."

Staying late to make up time for my "emergency" doctor's appointment tomorrow (emergency only because they won't renew perscriptions over the phone anymore. *grumbles*).

I was wondering about that. That sounds like a sensible plan to me - I hope you're able to do it as I had an absolute blast at ours!

*pets* Since undergrad apps were a pain, I can only imagine what grad school apps are like! Best of luck!

emoticon many times over (for many reaasons). I've been keeping my mother abreast of the sitch, and she's become concerned. I have told her repeatedly that it won't affect my vacay, but she's not really listening. . .

And that (the DL thing) is one of the main reasons my instinct was to frown at the news. . .

Yes, that's probably a very good way to look at it!

 emoticon emoticon to all!

Couple more things to do for grad school app, but almost there!

Worst case scenario: I'm sure there's a Race in MN! But I do want to be there with my parents to get on the plane to the UK et al. - that was part of the point of going with them! So we all have company on the flight and they have a veteran traveler to help them with the hoop-jumping.

quote:

I've been keeping my mother abreast of the sitch, and she's become concerned. I have told her repeatedly that it won't affect my vacay, but she's not really listening. . .

emoticon Sometimes it's just better for the parents not to know. Mel's mom actually had a very sensible, quiet reaction to the news that I'm probably moving with Mel, which we weren't expecting.

Oh, and the only way any of this is likely to affect your vacay is that the house might be half-empty emoticon and you might have to sleep on an air mattress instead of the sofa-bed (as I'm thinking of listing that on Craigslist - no point in moving it!). Things like that.

quote:

And that (the DL thing) is one of the main reasons my instinct was to frown at the news. . .

I know plenty of people would think this was odd, but giving up my pass is one of the hardest things about this for me. I've been an AP holder for TEN YEARS! It's as much a part of my identity as "Californian" (which I'm also [partly] giving up) or "blonde" or "female" or "English major" or "ButMadNNW".

quote:

quote:

On the one hand: emoticon you'll be closer to me,

emoticon more!

Heck, when the idea was originally raised to me, one of the first things I did was check airfare to see how much it'd cost to see my family. Then I checked airfare from MN to NY. emoticon

Yes, that's probably a very good way to look at it!

Next stop: Home! emoticon

I don't think there's anyway to make this emoticon bigger, so you'll just have to imagine a huge grin!
