just for the honor of Christianity, let me say that we can pray for any such person, even as far as offering to suffer or expiate on his behalf - though that can lead to excesses - and we can and should hope for his ultimate wellbeing. or, of course, if we have neither charity nor a ascetical determination to intercede, we can just say nothing.
