Re: "Ten Things Missed About Disneyland..."
Kinda cute article, but I take issue with the author missing "free-range characters" - without "crowd control," characters get stomped on, pushed, punched, harassed; some kids miss out, etc.
My mom used to be pastor at a North Hollywood church, and one of her members (7-foot plus tall guy) was Frankenstein's Monster at Universal Studios - the stories he could tell!

Re: "Ten Things Missed About Disneyland..."
True enough about the free range characters. I have seen people be so mean to them!! But I do miss a great many of the rides that are now gone. I'm quite a bit older than you ButMad, so I remember them!! My brother used to explore Disneyland, behind the scenes shall we say. He has some great stories too!!

Re: "Ten Things Missed About Disneyland..."
Hey, I remember some of those rides - some of them closed after I moved to California, after all! I climbed the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse (which was still operating at Disneyland Paris when I was there in 2002, BTW), rode the original Submarine Voyage (the Finding Nemo version is soooooo much cooler, though!)... I even remember CircleVision.
So there.
And on a side note, I've even been around for the introduction AND dismantling of at least two attractions: Rocket Rodds and the ill-conceived parade/show thing that flopped (see? I can't even remember the name, it was so bad). I could probably think of others if I tried.
