Re: Hugo Weaving films

Well, "The Key Man" and "The Tender Hook" (Weaving's last films since V4V) have come and gone apparently, and I don't remember hearing about either of them. But we do have something special to look forward to in Spring of 2009.
Joe Johnson ("October Sky") is directing a remake of the Lon Chaney classic, "The Wolf Man." It will be set in Victorian England and will have an all-star cast. Benecio Del Toro will play the title role along with Sir Anthony Hopkins and Emily Blunt (who?). Filming started in England in February of this year. I don't know if they are still filming.

Weaving plays Det. Aberline, who investigates the killings. Apparently he has a sizeable role in the last third of the film. Weaving will be dressed in the elaborate uniform of the police of the day for this role. For a picture of Weaving relaxing off-set in Victorian style facial hair, check out:

Perhaps one of you computer-savvy Vixens can help me to insert this image somewhere below. Thanks.

(Simple, luv - you just needed to replace "url" with "img" emoticon ...oh, and CUTE! emoticon ~ ButMad)

Well he's not Sherlock Holmes, more Dr. Watson I'd say, but he does certainly resemble the historical Det. F. D. Abberline, who investigated the Jack the Ripper killings. The IMDb is humming already!

I can't find The Key Man at all, and The Tender Hook is on IMdB, barely, but not available.

We did see Bedrooms and Hallways, and, as children of the 70's, who remember the swinging pre-Aids days, we loved it. A period piece, because the world has changed so much.

A nude scene! you didn't warn me. That water mattress has a strategic window.... HW was funny and charming; Purefoy, of whom i knew very little, also a pleasure to watch. Put this on the shelf with sexy romps, Tales of the City, etc.

Most reviewers on other boards thought the final change of apparent orientation in the last reel phony- I don't know, it seemed OK. emoticon emoticon emoticon
Work with play the happy differentiation!
