who do you like best?
A lot of the actors of lotr were unknown, of course now there quite popular. For instance lotr was the first time I ever heard of Orlando Bloom and that may be how he got his role in Pirates of the Carribean. Elijah Wood may have been the most popular of all them when they first came. Which indeed wasn't as popular as some other actors but now everyone knows of them. I picked up an interesting bit of info. The original actor for Aragorn wasn't fitting the part very well so Jackson had to find another and he said he just felt like calling this guy and he didnt know why. But he didn't know if he was going to accept the part but his kid convinced him to take the part and he happened to be perfect for the role. Aragorn is one of my fav characters in lotr so I'm glad Jackson reconsidered the role of aragorn because if he had a bad actor it would have messed the whole movie up. If any of the characters actors were bad it would ruin it. I really like the characters Aragorn,Eomer,and Faramir. The actors were great for the parts too.

Yes, Aragorn is wonderful... (not to mention good-looking  ... )
Elijah Wood was wonderful for his part, as was Ian McKellen, Billy Boyd, Dominic Mongham(sp?), Sean Astin, and Liv Tyler, to name a few...

Personally, I'm an elf-friend. I loved Elrond, Legolas, and Haldir but I'm not real fond of Galadriel. Arwen's okay, but they made her part a bit shallow. I was quite mad that PJ killed Haldir in TTT!
As for the race of men, I'd have to say Faramir and Eomer are my favs. Poor Faramir, his father was very mean to him. He didn't deserve to be treated that way, but he turned out to be one of the best guys in the story. Of course, PJ changed Faramir's part because he thought the Faramir in the book wouldn't work in the movie - not exciting enough. Aragorn is not bad, but they make him a little flaky. In the TTT, they have him basically flirting with Eowyn, which ticked me off. In the book he felt sorry for her, but in the movie, it's almost like a love triangle going on.
Oh, and of course, I love Gandalf too! especially Gandalf the White (with Shadowfax - the best horse ever)!!!

Okay, I'll add two non-human characters who need to get recognition. None other than (do you know who I'm going to say Theodenking???)
.......... SHADOWFAX!!!! # 1 horse in all of Middle Earth!

The second non-human hero is Gwaihir, The Windlord or Lord of the Eagles. Thanks to him Gandalf was rescued from the increasingly mean and considerably grayer Saruman.
Let's hear it for the non-human heroes of Middle Earth! (Yay! Applause, applause, applause!).
All right, I'm finished. You can go back to your human characters now.

I'm not a big fan of horses but I must say I do like those eagles. Especially when they fight the Nazgul's dragon's. Don't mess with the Eagles!!!! They'll get'cha!
