Freakiest Place on Middle Earth
Now I thought The Dead Marshes were freaky with all the dead faces and such but Minus Morgul.......have u seen rotk?! Thats freaky. Just looking at it. Shining green and all. Plus its where the Nazgul hang out so yeah Frodo may not wanna go there. lol. Yeah I can see it now Frodo escaped them in Osgiliath, the dead marshes even on the way to Rivendale but he got caught when he came to their front doorstep.lol. Thats the second time Gollum saved his tail. Ok third.

Re: Freakiest Place on Middle Earth
I can only think of two reasons.
1.Gollum didn't want Frodo to get caught because then he wouldn't get the ring
2.It could have been Smeagal trying to help him. Because it seems that he was struggling with himself to decide what to do. Smeagal being the good one that wanted his other side to go away and Gollum being the bad side that desires the ring above anything else.
Did I confuse you?
But it is sad. If Frodo wouldn't have had to trick Smeagol than Gollum wouldn't have come out again and he wouldn't have tried to kill Frodo. Thats how I see it. Because after the "tricksy Hobbit" tricked him Gollum came back and stayed back. It was a shame Gollum had to die though. But he did have the ring for 500 years so it wasn't like Bilbo or Frodo. Even if Frodo didn't trick him he proboly would have tried to take the ring in the end. Because the rings grasp had him for 500 years-I don't think he would ever return to normal unless he went Valanor of course.

Gollum/Smeagol ........ go to Valinor??? I don't think so. His chances of being allowed to go to Valinor are the same as Hilter's chances of getting into heaven (and NO, I'm NOT comparing Gollum to Hitler). Don't forget, even though Smeagol is a pitiful creature, he still killed his own brother, Deagol, in order to get the ring, and he lied by saying that it was his birthday to justify his actions. That's two counts against him and the ring wasn't even his at the time. He just got worse as those 500 years passed by.
I think Shelob's lair is the creepiest place. Imagine bumping into all of those sticky spider webs every where you go?! Can you say YUCK! The smell in there was horrible! And those corpses - all hollowed out from Shelob snacking on their insides....... how yummy. Lunch anyone?
