Pasties
Originated in Cornwall
Carried by the minors in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan for their lunch.
2 recipes pie crust. will make 20 pasties.
2 1/2 lbs ground pork
2 1/2 lbs hamburger
8-10 large potatoes washed and diced.
1 large onion diced
1 large rutabaga pealed and diced.
2 Tblsp seasoned salt
1tsp pepper
mix thoroughly.
roll small ball of pie crust out thin and about 9 inches in diameter. place 12 cup meat mixture on one half of crust. fold over and seal edges thoroughly. cut slit in top and bake @ 350 45 minutes to an hour Put a little butter in hole in top and enjoy. Freeze the rest once they are baked for another day. Makes about 20 pasties.
