Frybread tacos
2 cups hot water
1T lard
1T sugar
1tsp salt
1c sourdough starter
1tsp yeast softened in 1/4 c warm water
about 5-6 C bakers flour
mix water lard Sugarsalt and let cool to warm add sourdough starter and yeast mixture
Gradually add flour until you have a stiff dough. Cover and let stand for 10 minutes. Kneed in flour until the dough becomes smooth and elastic and no more flour can be worked in to the dough. place on lightly floured surface grease the top and cover with a towel until double in size.
punch down and halve the dough. Make one half into a loaf place in greased pan cover and let rise double and bake at 350 degrees.
They other half of dough form into balls about the size of a large golf ball and flatten on lightly floured surface. Cover and let rise double. Fry in deep fat. Cut open and place your favorite taco mixings inside and enjoy.
