Private Party, Shotts, 22/06/07
Well, this was a strange one- it was like entering a timewarp, the land that clubland forgot. Even the rats were carrying chibs! However, initial trepidation gave way to appreciation of the highest stage area:floor area ratio ever recorded. So we scaled down the PA and hit it off and it turned out to be a great night. Plenty of eye-candy- those legs- and a decent buffet coupled with a crowd that, once warmed up, sang and danced with the best of them. Mike, as is becoming the norm, got propositioned in a third party way later in the gig and a drunk girl with a broken wrist (why this is important escapes me) reckoned Andy was the cute one, which left Mr N and I as the sad munters of the bunch, although the aforementioned broken wristed drunk girl (her inebriated stat perhaps explaining why her wrist was broken in the first place) did reckon I was a "brilliant drummer". Impecable taste clearly! Roll on Killin!

Yeah, turned out really really good!! My first impression of the club was that I'd seen WAY better public bogs! Just shows you, a great crowd can truly make a gig!!
Glad we went down well - although I don't think we should make a habit of navigating into Clubland / Functionville...
Right, anyway, this has to stop!!! Andy's had 3 years of being the wee cute one (and was too picky to spill any seed), now the Mighty Pidge is Shine Adonis....
All I want is the odd wee blow job, just once in a while... Please... Anyone... C'mon, I sing my lungs out for you night after night...

Just goes to show we are diverse enough to pull off a function gig, including modifying the setlist we went along. Good sound, great audience and those legs!!!!
I'm glad to see my status as the young cute one is still intact. Not happy about playing second fiddle in the looks stakes though, but hey ho  is playing a few gigs with us in August!!!

Hey that's true young man!! I may indeed move back one notch up the "shagability scale" for a few gigs in August!! Surely I must rank slightly higher than the Farting Funkmeister???
Ah well, maybe time to hang up the Les Paul and retire to pipe and slipperdom....
However, indeed the Mighty Shine are as diverse as a diverse thing!!
I still reckon we need to procure a Pidge sized brown paper bag for aforementioned bass player's head!! We would, of course, cut eye holes for him to see his fretboard. Far too much interest being paid to a lowly bass player!
